New Tools Boost Precision and Productivity
Nissin Manufacturing honing machines boasted a high degree of precision and an excellent track record and were used by many of the manufacturer’s customers.
After participating in demonstrations and processing tests, the manufacture learned that anyone could produce reliable results on the new machines.
Nissin also provided a comprehensive after-sales support, including advice and proposals for improving accuracy.
At the breaking point, the employee discussed the issue with the director of a factory operated by one of the manufacturer’s customers. The factory director advised him to replace the existing honing machines and told him about Nissin, which had a reputation for extremely precise honing. The employee immediately set about making enquiries with Nissin. The Nissin salesperson he talked to recommended the G25-MM2 dual-spindle honing machine.
“When I asked for more information, I was informed that many of our clients were in fact using Nissin honing machines. By switching to the G25-MM2, we would be able to switch a jig configuration that was effective for honing squareness. I was also informed that, because each spindle had an independent slide table, there was no need to perform centering adjustment when changing the set-up,” said the employee.
With his interest piqued, he asked if he could see the machine in action and was invited to view a demonstration and processing test at the Nissin.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. I merely had to position the workpiece and press start, and honing began. Measurements of the finished component confirmed that it had been machined very precisely. Seeing how simple the machining process was convinced me that with this machine, anyone would be able to produce consistent results,” said the employee.
The employee hurriedly submitted his report on the test to his superiors, requesting that they purchase the G25-MM2. They immediately agreed to replace the existing machines with the G25-MM2. The upgrade would enable the manufacturer to boost production by 20%, achieving much more consistent straight angles than their previous machines. The new machines were responsible for a major boost in yield. With centering no longer required when changing the set-up, the new machines also halved the time spent on changing the set-up.
“Nissin continued to provide us with useful advice and proposals on matters like pre-machining parameters for improving precision. We are extremely satisfied,” said the employee.
The manufacturer will continue to strive to for even greater excellence in component production, while utilizing the after-sales support from Nissin.
