We would like to introduce our India Branch as it commemorates the start of its business.

Smooth Technology in India

Namaste! I’m ITOI Kosuke, India Branch manager. I was assigned to India in January 2025. The Indian market has been growing and is attracting global attention, and India is a vibrant country where many cultures and people come together. We strive to deliver tailored solutions and we greatly appreciate your continued support.

Introducing Office

India Branch is located in Gurugram (Formerly Gurgaon), south of Delhi.
There are many foreign companies in Gurugram and there are also many Japanese companies, and the city has been developing rapidly in recent years.
Our India Branch launched its business in a corner of a shared office inside a mall. There is a shopping mall downstairs that sells furniture and other items. The view from our office is very good because of the Atrium and the glass walls, which are typical features of Indian malls and this is my favorite part of the office.

I work together with two founding members of the branch, Mr. Sagar and Ms. Reena. We strive as one team to overcome unexpected troubles.

My Workday Schedule

On workday, time passes quickly. Let me introduce my workday schedule.

8:15 a.m.

I leave home to arrive at the office by 9:00 a.m. Traffic is light at that time, so it takes about 20 minutes to get to the office.

9:00 a.m.

We hold a short briefing every morning, and after that, we start work.

9:30 a.m.

It is 1:00 p.m. in Japan. I have meetings or conferences with the head office in Japan before their working time end.

1:00 p.m.

Lunch time comes quickly while I’m attending meetings and making documents. Lunch time in the branch is from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch time in India starts later than in Japan. Even when meetings run long and lunch time starts at 2:00 p.m., there are a lot of people in the office canteen.

After lunch time, I have web meetings with customers and explain quotations or machine specifications in detail. Sometimes, I receive reports of machine troubles from customers. If a problem cannot be solved solely at the branch, I share the information with the head office in Japan to solve the problem together.

6:00 p.m.

Time passes quickly until an end of working time during while responding to customers.
Since June and July are the rainy season, it often rains heavily in the evening, and the roads are flooded. The traffic becomes heavy, and it takes an hour longer than usual to get home.

Life on Days Off

I usually spend my day off at home, but sometimes I take a walk in Gurugram or go sightseeing in Delhi by train. It takes about 50 minutes by train from Gurugram to central Delhi. Transferring at the stations is easy because the footprint signs, which are the same color with the line, guide me. This is a typical feature of India as a multicultural country.

Recently, I went to Delhi and took a walk around India Gate and Connaught Place. Some local vendors who are good at sales take a picture of tourists at India Gate without their permission and sell the photo data. Many people don’t like having their picture taken without permission, but there is a demand among Indians who likes taking pictures with posing for photos.

A must-visit when in Delhi, India Gate is a war memorial built to honor soldiers who died World War Ⅰ and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.

The name of 13,300 fallen soldiers are written on the surface of the gate.

I have more places I want to visit and have enjoyed the life in India.
